Documents and Requirements
What documents are required to rent a motorcycle?
To rent a motorcycle with HP Motorrad España, you must present a valid driving licence for the category of motorcycle selected, a valid ID card or passport, and a credit card in the name of the main rider for the security deposit.
Is an International Driving Permit required?
If you are from a European Union country, a valid national driving licence is sufficient. Customers from non-EU countries may be required to present an International Driving Permit (IDP), depending on the applicable regulations and agreements.
What is the minimum age to rent a motorcycle?
The minimum age is 18, although requirements may vary depending on the motorcycle model. For some larger or more powerful motorcycles, a higher minimum age and specific riding experience may be required.
Can I add an additional rider?
Yes. For an additional fee, you can add one or more additional riders, provided they meet the same licence, age and eligibility requirements as the main rider.
Booking and Payment
How can I book a motorcycle?
You can request a quote directly through our website or contact our team by email at rent@hpmotorrad.com.
When is my booking confirmed?
We will reply within 48 hours, and your booking will be confirmed after checking motorcycle availability and receiving the required deposit payment.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept major credit cards and other payment methods indicated during the booking process.
Is a security deposit required?
Yes. When you pick up the motorcycle, a pre-authorization on a credit card (debit cards are not accepted) is required as a security deposit. The amount varies depending on the motorcycle category and the insurance coverage selected.
Insurance and Safety
Is insurance included in the rental?
Yes. All HP Motorrad motorcycles are provided with the third-party liability insurance required by law. At the time of booking or pick-up, we will explain the coverage included and any additional insurance options available.
Can I reduce the insurance excess?
Yes. For all models, you can choose additional coverage options that reduce your financial liability in the event of damage or theft, in accordance with the Rental Terms and Conditions.
What should I do in case of an accident?
In the event of an accident, you must contact HP Motorrad immediately, make sure the accident area is safe and follow the instructions provided by our team. Any accident must be reported promptly.
What happens in case of a breakdown?
Our team will provide assistance to find the quickest possible solution and help you continue your journey, depending on the circumstances and your location.
What happens if I get a flat tyre?
The cost of repairing or replacing the tyre is the customer’s responsibility. HP Motorrad will provide telephone assistance to help you resolve the problem as quickly as possible.
Pick-up and Drop-off
Where can I pick up the motorcycle?
Motorcycles can be picked up at an HP Motorrad location or at one of our available delivery points, according to the arrangements agreed upon at the time of booking.
Is airport or hotel delivery available?
Yes. For an additional fee, we offer motorcycle delivery and collection at hotels, airports or other agreed locations, subject to availability.
Can I return the motorcycle to a different location?
In some cases, it is possible to arrange a one-way rental, returning the motorcycle to a different location from the pick-up point. Please contact our team to check availability and additional costs.
Mileage and Usage
Is mileage unlimited?
Different mileage options are available depending on the motorcycle model and rental type, ranging from pay-per-kilometre plans with 0 km included to unlimited mileage options. Any applicable mileage allowance and additional kilometre charges will always be clearly indicated in the quotation and rental agreement.
Can I ride the motorcycle outside Spain?
Yes, you can travel to other European countries. You must inform HP Motorrad before departure and obtain the required Cross-Border authorization, which is subject to an additional fee as specified in the rental agreement.
Can I carry a passenger?
Yes. All motorcycles approved for two people can carry a passenger. The rider is responsible for ensuring that the passenger uses appropriate protective clothing and an approved helmet.
Accessories
Can I rent helmets and accessories?
Yes. HP Motorrad offers a range of accessories, including helmets, GPS navigation systems and other equipment, subject to availability.
Are luggage cases included in the rental?
Usually, yes. This depends on the motorcycle model. Some motorcycles already include luggage cases, while others may include a three-piece luggage set. For certain models, luggage may not be available.
Cancellations
Can I modify or cancel my booking?
Yes. Changes within the same calendar year are possible, subject to availability. The following cancellation conditions apply:
1) Up to 31 days before the rental start date: the 30% deposit is non-refundable. However, a voucher will be issued and can be used exclusively for a new rental during the following season.
2) Between 30 and 15 days before the rental start date: the 30% deposit will be retained in full and no voucher will be issued.
3) Less than 15 days before the rental start date: the renter is responsible for 100% of the total rental amount, and the outstanding balance will be charged in full.
Roadside Assistance
How can I contact HP Motorrad during my rental?
Our team is available 7 days a week, from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, to provide assistance throughout your rental period. Emergency and assistance contact details will be provided when you pick up the motorcycle.
Fines and Tolls
Who is responsible for fines received during the rental period?
The rider is responsible for all traffic violations, toll charges and any fines or penalties incurred during the rental period.
